McDonald Elementary, originally built in 1914, underwent a full renovation of the 50,000 SF school, including seismic upgrades, concrete shear walls, and extensive finish carpentry. The school reopened with language immersion at every grade level. Students spend half their day learning literacy and social studies subjects while the other half of their day is learning math and science in their immersion language.
