Three generations of Neeley Construction

Neeley Construction Company is a third-generation general contractor serving Western Washington. We have grown significantly since our founding in the 1950s and remain true to our roots. Our reputation for integrity and professionalism must be re-earned with each and every project. Family values are at the foundation of everything we do. We know the value of teamwork, the meaning of a handshake, and the importance of sticking to our word. That’s what Alvin Neeley believed when he started the company and that’s what we still believe today.

Vision

I feel blessed to be a third-generation owner, and am excited to support the families of our employees and steward the business until I can turn it over to the next generation.

—Mitch Neeley, Owner

Expertise and Capabilities

Since our incorporation in 1964, Neeley Construction has built its reputation by delivering value to our clients, the taxpayers, and the public that expects high-quality construction to last a lifetime.

We have a diverse clientele that includes both public and private sectors. Our projects range significantly in both size and complexity, and vary between new construction, full to partial renovations, additions, field work, tenant improvements and repair work. We provide preconstruction services and utilization of alternative delivery methods such as progressive design build, and GC/CM.

Whatever the project, it’s our continuing mission to deliver exceptional results and value to every client.

History

Old Shop

The original Neeley Construction shop

After returning from his service during World War II, Alvin Neeley started Neeley Construction & Cabinet Co in the 1950s in downtown Puyallup. He focused on residential and light commercial construction, as well as cabinetry work.

As the business grew, his two sons Al (Skeet) and John joined the business after they graduated from college. John focused on commercial casework while Skeet focused on commercial construction. In the 1980s, Skeet and John assumed primary ownership over the business. Soon thereafter Skeet began transitioning the general construction branch focus over to K-12 work, primarily elementary schools in the South Puget Sound Area.

Skeet’s son Mitch, now the third-generation owner of the Neeley family business, began working for the company every summer starting at the age of 16. He earned his degree in Construction Management from WSU and then worked for 10 years at Lydig Construction in Spokane. Mitch returned to Neeley Construction in 2009 to work with his dad, to continue the family legacy.

In 2015, the cabinet shop was closed, and the focus shifted solely to general construction. The “& Cabinet Co” was dropped from its name, and officially became Neeley Construction Company.

In 2018, Neeley Construction expanded its reach by opening an office in downtown Sequim, WA. Realizing the potential and opportunity of the region after contracting to build an administration building for the Clallam County PUD in 2014, Mitch made the decision to open a full-time satellite location to accommodate the steady work. Since that time, the Peninsula team has grown, and we maintain a local workforce serving the Olympic Peninsula and surrounding areas.

Founded on a reputation of integrity, professionalism, and the values and traditions one expects from a family business, Neeley Construction is built upon existing relationships while also establishing new ones. Across the Pacific Northwest, Neeley Construction continues to prove their business delivers both a quality project and exceptional value, time after time.
